As a good human we bet you use compostable or biodegradable dog poo bags. We did too, until we came across Pet Impact ReSEAcled poo bags.
Made from 50% recycled HDPE plastic (e.g. old shampoo and milk bottles) and 25% natural oyster shell waste (which would otherwise be thrown away), these poo bags are a more responsible choice than biodegradable dog poo bags. This is because most biodegradable poo bags end up in landfill, which doesn’t provide the right conditions for the bags to biodegrade. Like us, you might’ve believed that biodegradable poo bags were made from plants. While they do contain plant-based materials, they still contain 50-80% fossil fuels and when not disposed of properly (i.e. composted in optimum conditions) they fragment into microplastics and release methane.
By re-using waste, these ReSEAcled poo bags emit less carbon and use less energy than biodegradable poo bags that are created using new materials. If you’re keen to learn more, visit Pet Impact for all the facts and figures.
- Dog poo bags made from 70-75% recycled waste
- Each roll contains 15 bags and each box contains 16 rolls (240 bags in total)
- Each bag has tie handles
- The bag material is 15 microns thick
Please note, these bags aren’t for you if you compost your dog’s poo; you’re better off without bags or using certified home compostable bags.
